Rent a Bus To Visit Alamogordo Neighborhoods
Alamogordo is a relatively small town in Southern New Mexico, but it includes distinct neighborhoods that boast various events for your group to enjoy! Organize a private bus tour for your group and explore some of these local neighborhoods:

Scenic Drive
Take a drive up to the Sacramento Mountains, where you’ll find Cloudcroft, one of Alamogordo’s most popular destinations. Explore the mountainside shops, sample local treats like homemade fudge, and enjoy a variety of restaurants in this charming town, before you visit the Sacramento Peak and Apache Point Observatories. If you can visit in December, you might also catch the annual White Sands Polar Bear Plunge on New Years’ Day, where participants jump into freezing Lake Holloman in support of local charities.

Alamogordo’s First Street
Travel downtown along this historical stretch of road that dates back to the beginning of the city itself, when it was called the Cotton City and El Paso Road. You’ll find local restaurants like the quaint Hi-D Ho Drive-In and the retro-themed vintage shop, A Blast From The Past. Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant or head over to Alameda Park Zoo to visit local wildlife like native New Mexico birds and bobcats.

White Sands Mall
This is a commercial neighborhood with most of the buildings dating back to the mid-20th century, though some have since been transformed. The mall includes many local establishments. Start by having a coffee and pastry at one of the area’s charming, local cafes, like Heart of the Desert Pistachios & Wine Garden or the New Mexico Wine Country. You’ll also find plenty of space for parking here, if you’re looking for a place to leave your charter bus while you and your group explore the surrounding neighborhood.

10th Street
10th Street is on the south side of town, and it’s a bit more commercial and suburban than the neighborhoods above. You will be closer to New Mexico landmarks like the White Sands Missile Range Museum and the Alamogordo White Sands Regional Airport. Along this stretch, you will find plenty of restaurants and lodging options for your group. Enjoy local pizza and Italian food at Big Daddy’s Pizza or dine-in at Chili’s, and book your accommodations at the local Hampton Inn or Quality Inn.
